Strategic Plan
The Hudson Montessori School’s Strategic Plan is an important document that reaffirms the school’s mission, declares our values, establishes a vision, and outlines important strategic imperatives. It is a dynamic resource that provides a roadmap for the future of our school and provides guidance to the Hudson Montessori School Board of Trustees and the Head of School as they make strategic decisions.
Throughout the 2017–18 school year, the Hudson Montessori School Board of Trustees and Matt Virgil, Head of School, engaged in a substantial strategic planning process. Various constituent groups provided input to assist the Board of Trustees in adopting a Strategic Plan that is reflective of our full school community. While many strategic plans are created and seldom consulted, the document created in this process was intended to be adaptable to future needs and to be frequently referenced when needed. As such, it has been very useful in both regular decision making and in unusual and unanticipated circumstances, like the pandemic.
Our Strategic Plan is regularly reviewed by the Board of Trustees to confirm that it properly guides the high-level direction of the school and to update the document as needed. The Board of Trustees also works with the Head of School to operationalize the Strategic Plan’s high-level direction. Each year, the Board of Trustees hosts a State of the School meeting. In that meeting, an update on the school’s Strategic Plan is shared. Summaries of the last two State of the School meetings are shared below in addition to the Strategic Plan. If you have questions on the Strategic Plan, you can contact the Board of Trustees at board@hudsonmontessori.org or Matt Virgil, Head of School, at mvirgil@hudsonmontessori.org.
