BIOGRAPHY

Abbie has been part of the Hudson Montessori School community since 2003, but her Montessori journey began much earlier when she attended a Montessori school through second grade. She looks back fondly on those early experiences, which helped shape her love of learning and her deep respect for each child’s individuality. As an adult, she felt a strong pull back to the Montessori philosophy because of its trust in the child and its commitment to nurturing curiosity and independence. Years later, she had the joy of watching her own children grow and thrive at HMS, and now feels an even deeper sense of connection as her two nieces carry on the tradition. Observing the Montessori legacy continue within her family has deepened her appreciation for its lifelong benefits.

Throughout her time at HMS, Abbie has been known for her enthusiasm for learning and her dedication to sharing that joy with her students. She believes every child is a unique gift and is passionate about helping each one grow with confidence, independence, and purpose. She is especially committed to building strong, trusting relationships with students and families—believing that partnership is at the heart of a thriving classroom.

Abbie continues to seek opportunities to grow as an educator. She has completed extensive graduate coursework in Gifted Education (2023), earned a certificate through the American Montessori Society’s Anti-Bias/Anti-Racist Education Program (2021), and was honored to be part of the inaugural class of the AMS Emerging Leaders Fellowship in 2018.

Outside of school, Abbie enjoys walking her dog, Lieto, reading, and spending quiet moments working on embroidery projects. She also treasures time with her family, especially attending her son’s baseball games and watching her daughter perform with the high school cheer team. She brings a love of learning and creativity into both her classroom and her everyday life.
