BIOGRAPHY

Elizabeth first started at HMS as a Children’s House student in 1995 and graduated as a member of the Middle School’s charter class in 2007. She attended Hathaway Brown for high school. Elizabeth went on to play soccer at the University of Cincinnati and worked in the Recruiting Office as a Student Coach. After graduating from Cleveland State University with a B.A. in History, Elizabeth began teaching at HMS in 2021. Crediting her own Montessori education as the foundation for her inspiration to teach, Elizabeth felt drawn to come back to the Hudson community as an educator.

Prior to teaching at HMS, Elizabeth obtained her USSF National D Coaching license in 2016 and spent 2016–2018 as an assistant coach for soccer and lacrosse at Cleveland Heights High School. From 2018–2021 Elizabeth accepted a soccer head coaching position at Beaumont School as well as her alma mater, Hathaway Brown, in the lacrosse program. She is a certified TOPSoccer Coach and developed the first community outreach program in Cleveland Heights, Ohio for adults and children with physical and mental differences in 2020. During her time as a coach, she also helped at local dog kennels in Chagrin and Macedonia passionately working with over 100 dogs at a time.

Elizabeth most recently became certified in Orton Gillingham’s Comprehensive Plus reading and writing as well as Junior Great Books Shared Inquiry. She has designed the summer camp curriculum for the HMS Create Your Day Camp 2022 and looks forward to spending many years on the Montessori campus where she grew up, because “there’s no place like home.”

Fun Fact: Elizabeth was a student in Ms. Laura’s class!

Outside of school, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her fiancé, dog Mongo, and five cats. They often adventure together, animals included, on camping trips in new states and parks. You may find them at an ice cream parlor or on a hiking trail.
