BIOGRAPHY
Kate Angelini earned her B.A. from Loyola University Chicago, her Montessori credential from Seton Montessori Institute, and is presently earning her M.Ed. from Kent State University. Kate is deeply passionate about fostering in children a lifelong love of the natural world and an understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things.
Most recently, this passion led her back home to Ohio to serve as a Field Instructor Fellow at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center, where she promoted sustainability and stewardship by teaching outdoor classes in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Prior to that, she taught at Alcuin Montessori School in Oak Park, Illinois, where she coordinated a school-wide gardening and vermicomposting program.
Each summer, she joins the Tinkering School Chicago staff to facilitate large-scale outdoor construction projects with 8- to 14-year-olds at a residential summer camp. Her love of empowering children to learn at their own pace, make their own discoveries, and express their unique interests and insights makes Montessori a natural fit.
On the weekends, she can typically be found cycling, trail running or reading in a hammock.
