BIOGRAPHY

Karen began her teaching career here at Hudson Montessori where she was a Lower Elementary Guide from 2000-2006. While raising her three children, she worked as an Assistant at both the Lower and Upper Elementary levels at Hershey Montessori and Hudson Montessori. Throughout, she pursued her passion for literacy education, most recently earning her AMS Reading Certificate and completing IMSE’s Orton-Gillingham+ and Morphology+ trainings. Karen is very excited to be a part of the Educational Support Team and is passionate about helping children in her role as Reading and Literacy Specialist. 

Karen, her husband Nate, and their three children live on a small farm in Chardon where they support their oldest children’s collegiate journeys and their youngest’s interest in farming and 4-H swine and cattle. As Montessori parents, they appreciate the opportunities for learning that a Montessori education offered their children. In her free time, Karen enjoys reading, drawing, painting and walking her dog, Teddy.
