BIOGRAPHY
Doña Laurie leads our Spanish program and Computational Thinking & Computer Science Lab. She offers innovative Spanish lessons that challenge students to use the language in authentic scenarios while upholding a tradition of high academic standards. In the Computational Thinking Lab, she enjoys supporting students through screen-free and digital collaborative learning scenarios, as students develop foundational skills in computer science.
She is always excited to work with students in after-school cultural clubs that expand their appreciation of Hispanic and Spanish cultural traditions, as well as coding clubs that provide a space for aspiring programmers to develop their interests and affinities. Outside of HMS, she works as a Spanish Examiner for the International Baccalaureate Programme and is currently pursuing an MEd in Educational Technology at Kent State.
