BIOGRAPHY

Lisa Leary was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. She has a BA in Communications and English from LaSalle University and a Masters Degree in Education from Widener University. She was a teacher for the School District of Philadelphia for 15 years before relocating to Ohio because of her husband’s employment in 2013. She taught Reading/Language Arts as well as English as a Second Language across grades 1st-12th during her teaching career. She has her PA certification in English, ESL and Elementary Education. She is also certified in NJ in Elementary Education.

Lisa was first introduced to a Montessori Education when her husband Jim and she were looking for a preschool for their son Cristian. They fell in love with how independent the students were at such a young age. They enrolled Cristian in the Parent/Toddler Class in January of 2014. They were convinced this was the learning environment Cristian would thrive. Cristian is an alumnus ’25 of HMS and currently attends CVCA. Lisa has worked at HMS since 2017 as a substitute teacher. She has substituted in all levels and all classes. She has been a room parent and on Family Network for many years. Her husband, Jim is the former basketball coach for HMS.

Lisa resides in Twinsburg with her husband, her son and their Rottweiler Roxi. Lisa is a devoted Philadelphia sports fan. She never misses an Eagles, Phillies, Sixers or Flyers game on TV. She also enjoys watching her son play basketball, baseball, and golf. The family spends the majority of the summer at the Jersey shore where Lisa’s parents currently live.
