BIOGRAPHY

Lisa McGinnis knew she wanted to be a teacher from the time she was just eight years old! She began her career in Ventura, California, teaching Middle School U.S. and World History, and soon expanded her repertoire to include Science, Geography, Study Skills, and even Boys’ P.E. After taking time off to raise her two sons, Lisa returned to education in a variety of roles, from Reading Aide to First Grade Teacher to Instructional Assistant, gaining experience with students from kindergarten through high school.

Her introduction to Montessori philosophy came through family friends, and she immediately felt a deep connection, recognizing how closely it reflected her own teaching and parenting values. That connection grew stronger after a chance encounter with Hudson Montessori School’s enthusiastic and sportsmanlike soccer team, which led her to visit the school and see Montessori in action. Lisa was inspired and joined Hudson Montessori in 2019 as a Children’s House Assistant. After completing her Montessori Elementary (9–12) training at METTC in Boston, she stepped into her current role as an Upper Elementary Lead Teacher.

Lisa is grateful to be part of the Hudson Montessori community and is excited to continue growing as a lifelong learner and educator, while inspiring curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in her students.
